As I learn how content is shared through ActivityPub with WordPress, there are different formats that content can be posted as, the default being standard. This is the format of an article, generally used for long-form content.
The additionally supported post formats, for the default post type, available are documented here, which are:
- Aside
- Audio
- Chat
- Gallery
- Image
- Link
- Quote
- Status
- Video
The way the content is entered from WordPress doesn’t change and the default display will be the same unless theme templates are edited. I’ll be posting each to see how they display on the mobile apps and maybe edit some theme templates.
In the last post I did, Federated Apps I’m Using, I used the standard post format, similar to this post. However, I did not used a featured image, which I am here. I did use the excerpt, which I am not using here.
